Health and Safety



All players have a duty to take reasonable care for their own health and safety, and that of others, as well as to co-operate with the club on health and safety issues. Players participate in club activities at their own risk and are encouraged to acquire personal sports insurance, e.g., alongside their licence at https://helsinkiwarriorshc.com/licences/.

Safety

  • Any loose/rogue balls must be accompanied by a shout of ‘ball!’.
  • Players should never position themselves with their backs to a ball in play.
  • For all matches, all on-field participants will be:
    • required to wear shin guards
    • required to wear appropriate shoes
    • required to wear sports-compliant eyewear / contact lenses if needed
    • strongly advised to wear a gum shield
    • advised to wear a protective glove on their left hand
    • provided with masks for short-corner defence
  • Similar to the Rules of Hockey of the International Hockey Federation, players are prohibited from taking part in on-field activities if they are bleeding. They must seek First Aid or otherwise cover any open wounds in order to continue.
