Under 12’s Run A Successful Winning Campaign After A Nervous Start To The Tournament.

The under-12 team travelled to Hämeenlinna for their indoor hockey tournament on 9 February 2020. They played three matches. The first match against Vantaa was a nervous affair. The team lost 1-3 in this encounter and nerves could clearly be seen as they made silly mistakes that cost them the match. The lesson here is certainly to focus on their own game instead of focusing on who the opponents are. Unfortunately, the Warriors was not at full strength and this influenced the outcome of the game to some extent.

In their second encounter the team faced HuVe Hockey and beat their opponents by 4 goals to 0. The score line could have been significantly higher if the team capitalized on all their goal scoring opportunities.

The third encounter saw the team pitted against UrJu and the Warriors reigned victorious by 4 goals to 0. The boys played their game and yet again showed that they are a force to be reckoned with. Several goal scoring opportunities were missed, which means that training will need to focus more on the conversion of goal scoring opportunities. The team will need to work on accuracy and passing more effectively in order to position themselves to score more goals.

We would like to thank Olli Vesakoski (Urjala) for making all the arrangements in this regard. We would also like to extend a massive thank you to all the parents who offered rides to and from Jukola and all of those who attended in an effort to support the players. Your commitment to this has been phenomenal and we are absolutely thankful. I will unfortunately not be present at the next tournament on march the 8th, but will leave the boys in the very capable hands of Vicky Moga, our club president.

The next tournament is scheduled for Sunday 8 March 2020 at Myyrmäen urheilutalo. The match schedule will be confirmed at a later stage.
